Keep getting stuck with 50-75 recruit soldiers that take forever to rise a few ranks. basically we get slaughtered if going against archers or plus 2 tier soldiers. What are some ways you guys found to easily level up and retain your troops?
Their wage is 1G pr day, compared to Tier unit who cost 2G pr day. The daily wage goes like this: 1 -> 2 -> 4 -> 7 -> 12 -> 20. This means a Tier 6 unit costs 20 times more than a recruit pr day. 100 recruits in your army is 100g pr day. 100 Elite Cataphracts is 2000. 100 Legionarys is 1200. Pr day.
Guys are cheap and the benefits are numerous. For instance, you can carry more for trade, meaning more trade exp, meaning more trade growth which I'm assuming is why you are bothering (I mean, unless you turn off character death you are getting older and trading is a really slow way to make money, you'd get more cash off a group of 10 looters than a trade mission selling 4-5 horses.)

Remember that prices fluctuate and there is supply and demand, so the more of one thing you sell to a place the less they will pay and the more you buy at a place the more they will charge. Mules and horses have the best profit margins generally. You can find them in some places for as low as 50 Denard and sell them at another place for 150-200.
